An entirely new and different Brisbane Football Club, popularly referred to as ‘Brisbanes’, participated in the QAFL between 1921 and 1927. During that time, it was far and away the most successful club in the league, contesting five straight grand finals between 1922 and 1926 and winning all but one of them. It is therefore somewhat surprising to note that in 1928 the club underwent a merger with the opponent that had been its chief rival, Valley.
