Broadford

Broadford’s long history is particularly notable for its feat in winning seven successive premierships in the Waranga North East Football Association between 1924 and 1930. The club later added two post-war flags in this competition but since the last of these in 1960 it has found success hard to attain. Over the past decade or so the ‘Roos have tended to be highly competitive. They won their first and so far only Heathcote District Football League premiership in 1996, and later played off unsuccessfully for both the 2001 and 2003 premierships. The seniors last qualified for the finals in 2007 when they finished fifth. Meanwhile the reserves won a flag in 2007 and the under seventeens went top a year earlier.
