During the 1970s Bundoora competed in the Panton Hill Football League, without notable success. In 1981 the club crossed to division two of the Diamond Valley Football League and immediately struck gold in the form of a grand final triumph that very year against Northcote Park. Since 1982 Bundoora has been a division one club, both in the DVFL and the Northern Football League which replaced it in 2007. The Bulls claimed successive premierships in 1995 and 1996, and were losing grand finalists in 2001, 2004 and 2007. In 2008 they qualified for the finals in fourth spot with a 12-6 record before losing the first semi final to North Heidelberg by 44 points.
