Senior Premierships
Torrens Valley Football Association (TVFA) - 1922, 1925, 1930-1-2-3, 1935, 1947, 1949, 1951, 1956-7 (12 total); HFL Northern Zone - 1970 (1 total); Division Two - 1982, 1984 (2 total)
Gumeracha’s first competitive outings were in the Torrens Valley Football Association, of which the club was a founding member in 1921. After losing the new competition’s inaugural grand final by 8 points to Houghton Gumeracha captured its first premiership the following year with a 9.9 (63) to 4.8 (32) grand final defeat of Tweedale. All told, the Magpies had won a total of a dozen senior grade TVFA flags by the time they transferred to the Hills Football League’s Northern Zone for that competition’s first season of 1967. Gumeracha has continued in this league, which became known as the HFL division two in 1972, ever since. To date, it has qualified for half a dozen senior grade HFL grand finals, winning in 1970 against Williamstown, 1982 against Mount Torrens Cambrai and 1984 at the expense of Nairne Bremer.
Recent seasons have been something of a struggle for Gumeracha whose seniors managed just 2 wins in both 2006 and 2008, while in 2007 they slumped to the ultimate indignity of a winless wooden spoon.
