Horsham Saints

After commencing in the Wimmera Football League in 1993 the Saints took very little time to find their feet, and they qualified for their first senior grade grand final in 1997 when they went down by 56 points to Minyip Murtoa. A year later on grand final day they lost to the same opponents by 4 goals. Further losing grand final appearances followed in 2001 and 2004 following which the side went into something of a decline which included wooden spoons in 2006 and 2007. Improvement when it came was dramatic as the Saints soared up the list in 2008, eventually getting as far as the grand final in which they lost to an all powerful Horsham team. Two more losing grand finals followed in 2013 and 2014 before the Saints finally broke through for a premiership in 2015 with a 16.6 (102) to 9.8 (62) grand final defeat of Horsham. A second successive flag followed in 2016 courtesy of a nail-biting 2 point grand final win over Minyip Murtoa. After that, the 2017 season was a trifle disappointing as, although the Saints qualified for the finals, they could not get past Warrack Eagles in the first semi final after having comfortably accounted for Stawell in the previous week's elimination final. The 2018 season brought a modicum of improvement with the Saints' season coming to an end at the first semi final stage courtesy of Ararat.

Originally known as St Michael’s, most of the club’s history was spent in the Horsham and District Football League, in which it enjoyed senior grade premiership success on five occasions.
