Lang Lang’s organised competitive existence commenced after the first world war when the club was a member of the Berwick District Football Association, in which it won its first premiership in 1922. Then, in 1927, the club was a founder member of the West Gippsland Football Association, winning a flag at the second time of asking, against Koo Wee Rup with scores of 11.13 (79) to 5.12 (42). The club went on to contest the next three premiership deciders only to lose each time to Pakenham in 1929, Longwarry in 1930, and Koo Wee Rup in 1931. 

After the second world war, the club alternatively competed in the West Gippsland Football League and the Valley Wonthaggi District Football League, but major success eluded it, with runners-up finishes in 1976 and 1987 its best returns.

Since 2000, the Tigers have competed in the Ellinbank and District Football League. So far, the seniors have had no premierships to celebrate, but they did get as far as the grand final in 2001, 2002 and 2008. More recently, however, they have struggled and indeed have not contested the final since 2011. The last four seasons have seen them finish eleventh of fifteen (2015), thirteenth of fifteen (2016) ninth of ten (2017) and tenth and last (2018).
