The Tigers never managed to claim a senior grade flag, although they did get as far as the preliminary final in 2007. Following that an alarming decline in player numbers seemingly put the club’s future in real jeopardy, but it struggled on for two more seasons. In 2009 the seniors finished a distant last without managing to record a single win. After the season was over the MMFL announced that it was disbanding and Morgan Cadell felt constrained to do likewise.
Prior to their merger in 1994, both Morgan and Cadell had been prominent members of the Mid Murray Football League/Association for many years. Originally formed at the beginning of the twentieth century, Morgan commenced in the MMFA in 1912 and went on to contest a total of thirty-six grand finals between then and 1994, from sixteen of which the club emerged triumphant. Cadell meanwhile, despite not having first competed in the MMFA until 1933, had also claimed a total of sixteen flags, as well as finishing second half a dozen times.
