NORTH BRISBANE

At the end of the 1990 season, Sandgate and Windsor-Zillmere underwent a marriage of convenience which spawned the North Brisbane Football Club. Combining elements of both merger partners’ playing uniforms - red, derived from Sandgate, and blue from Windsor-Zillmere - and known as the Eagles, the fledgling was a success on the field, winning the 1995 QAFL premiership, but suffered from unstable administration. In 1996 it was forced to withdraw from the competition.
