Omeo Benambra

Forced into a marriage of convenience in late 2006 by drastically reduced player numbers Omeo and Benambra saw the move vindicated immediately when the resultant club won a premiership at the first time of asking. Opposed in the grand final by Swan Reach, Omeo Benambra won convincingly by 70 points, 24.12 (156) to 13.8 (86). Perhaps surprisingly, they have only qualified for one further grand final since. That was in 2014 and it was a day to forget for the Rangers as they were crushed by opponents Swan Reach by 107 points. Following that they finished fifth on the six team premiership ladder for three seasons in succession (2015-16-17) before qualifying for the finals in 2018 and ultimately finishing fourth.
