The Pythons have played off for the senior grade premiership of the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League’s top tier competition eight times, winning in 1988 against Edithvale Aspendale, 1994 against Frankston YCW and 2018 versus Sorrento. Earlier, they enjoyed grand final success in the Nepean Football League on four occasions at the expense of Frankston YCW in 1976, Bonbeach in 1978 and 1980, and Crib Point in 1983.

Pines enjoyed their best season for some time in 2016 when they qualified for the finals in third place which was where they ultimately finished after losing to Mount Eliza in the preliminary final. A year later they dropped to fourth before claiming a long overdue seventh senior grade flag in 2018 when they scored a last gasp 1 point grand final win over Sorrento. In front of a crowd estimated at 8,000 scores were close all day and when the final siren went the teams were tied on 14.11 apiece, but Pines' Aaron Ludewig was lining up a set shot well within range. His kick was offline and only recorded a behind but that was enough to give victory to the Pythons, breaking a twenty-four year premiership drought.
