Senior Premierships
Maryborough (Castlemaine) District Football League - 1965, 1989, 1995-6-7-8, 2001 (7 total)
The Hawks’ history is especially noteworthy for their achievement in claiming four successive senior grade premierships between 1995 and 1998. They thus became the first only Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League club to accomplish this feat (since equalled by Navarre). The grand final scores for the seasons in question leave no doubt as to the extent of Talbot’s supremacy:
Talbot first reached the MCDFL’s senior grade grand final in 1962, but lost heavily to Dunolly. Three years later the Hawks made amends with a 10.14 (74) to 9.8 (62) grand final triumph over Carisbrook. Since 1965 the seniors have played off for the premiership another thirteen times, emerging victorious on six occasions. The reserves meanwhile have claimed half a dozen flags, while the under seventeens have finished top twice.
After a prolonged run of 'outs' Talbot's seniors returned to the finals fray in 2014 and have since also qualified for the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 finals albeit without managing to claim a premiership.
