The Redlegs first emerged as a force in the Kyabram District Football League during the 1960s, a decade which saw them qualify for the finals series in eight out of ten seasons, reaching the decisive match of the year on four occasions. However, they were only successful once, in 1963 at the expense of Girgarre.\n\nThe early 1970s proved to be a halcyon phase for Tallygaroopna’s seniors who reached four straight grand finals between 1971 and 1974, and won three of them, achievements that were more or less mirrored by the club’s reserve grade side. The club has not enjoyed such sustained success since, and indeed only added one senior grade flag to its tally. This came in 2005, courtesy of a 1 point grand final win over Stanhope.\n\nTallgaroopna’s reserves have to date won a total of seven premierships while the thirds have yet to open their account.
