Trafalgar

The Bloods entered the Mid Gippsland Football League in 1969 and reached their first senior grade grand final in only their third season. However, Yinnar proved too accomplished, and won by 43 points. Trafalgar had to wait until 1975 before next making the grand final and this time the result was as desired, the Bloods accounting for Newborough by 23 points, 13.15 (93) to 10.10 (70). Since then, Trafalgar have accumulated senior grade flags at a steady rate, with the 16.8 (104) to 7.5 (47) grand final defeat of Morwell East in 2009 earning them the honour for the sixth time. The 2010 season saw them going back to back by once again overcoming Morwell East on grand final day, this time with scores of 13.19 (97) to 6.10 (46). The Bloods' claimed a flag in 2012 when they accounted for Newborough in the grand final by 7 points, 10.3 (63) to 8.8 (56). Following that their fortunes declined somewhat and in 2016 they failed to qualify for the finals for the first time in eleven years, a fate which they again suffered the following year. Amends were swiftly made, however, as the 2018 season saw them sweeping all before them en route to their ninth senior grade flag. After topping the ladder with a 17-1 record they dispensed with the challenges of Yinnar in both the second semi final, by 17 points, and grand final with scores of 12.12 (84) to 9.14 (68).
