West Gambier

West Gambier Football Club was formed in 1938 and entered the South East Football Association the same year. The club continued in the SEFA until 1964, when it was a founder member of the Western Border Football League. The highlight of the ‘Roos’ involvement in the SEFA was their feat in claiming three successive senior grade premierships between 1957 and 1959. These indeed proved to be the only flags obtained by the club during its stint in the competition.\n\nWest Gambier’s only senior grade WBFL flag was won in 1971 thanks to an 11.11 (77) to 9.11 (65) grand final defeat of East Gambier. The ‘Roos also reached grand finals in 1977 and 1979, but lost to Hamilton Imperials and North Gambier respectively.
