Westerns

After breaking through for their first senior premiership in 1984 Portland-based Westerns Football Club - the ‘Roos' - became, for a time, the most successful club in the South West District Football League. Between 1997 and 2000 they claimed four flags in a row, a competition record (later equalled by Coleraine), giving them a total of eight senior flags in all, which until 2016, when overhauled by Tyrendarra, was also a record.

Recent seasons have seen the Kangaroos regularly contesting the finals and finishing fourth (2013), fifth (both 2014 and 2015), seventh (2016) and third (both 2017 and 2018).
