Nukarni’s haul of eleven senior grade Eastern Districts Football League premierships is a competition record but it has waited a long time to add to that tally. The Demons were especially powerful during the 1960s when they claimed half the flags on offer, and the 1990s when they went top four times. Recent seasons have generally been more of a struggle although Nukami did qualify for the 2012 finals in pole position only to succumb to a "straight sets" exit. More recently they reached the 2015 grand final only to lose by 62 points to Kulin Kunderin. They failed to qualify for the finals in both 2016 and 2017.
