St. Albans

The Supersaints’ halcyon era was the mid to late 1980s when they appeared in five straight senior grade grand finals with the following results:

1984 Bell Park 12.9 (81); St Alban’s 10.6 (66)

1985 Newtown and Chilwell 21.11 (137); St Alban’s 13.18 (96)

1986 Newtown and Chilwell 21.18 (144); St. Alban’s 15.8 (98)

1987 St. Alban’s 15.20 (110); Newtown and Chilwell 12.16 (88)

1988 St. Alban’s 12.14 (86); St. Joseph’s 11.12 (78)

Prior to commencing in the GFL in 1979 the club had spent more than three decades competing in the Geelong and District Football League claiming a total of half a dozen senior grade performances.

Recent performances have, in the main, been less noteworthy. On what is a twelve team premiership ladder the Supersaints finished eighth (2013), ninth (2014), seventh (2015), ninth (2016) and eleventh (both 2017 and 2018).

Some of St. Albans' most noteworthy players down the years include Timothy Payne, Bailey 'Boggo' Brogden and Jarrod Krajnc.
