Swifts Creek

Swifts Creek has been a long standing member of the Omeo District Football League, which was established as long ago as the 1890s The club has won a total of twenty-eight senior grade premierships, which is significantly more than any other current club.[1] Three of these flags have come in the last decade via grand final wins over Bruthen in 2008 and 2010, and Lindenow South in 2011. The Demons also qualified for the 2012 and 2013 grand finals only to lose on both occasions to Lindenow South. The next four seasons saw them finish sixth and last (2014), third (2015), fourth (2016), and fifth (2017) before making it through to another grand final in 2018. Opponents Bruthen proved too strong, however.

Footnotes

  1. Omeo, which merged with Benambra in 2007, won a total of thirty-four ODFL flags.
