The AFL has taken the unprecedented step of cancelling the Adelaide versus Geelong match scheduled to be played at the Adelaide Oval. In the wake of the tragic death of Crows' coach Phil Walsh, who was murdered in a domestic dispute last Friday, the AFL considered all options and decided the appropriate course of action was for the game to be cancelled. The match will be treated as a draw, with each team awarded two premiership points.
The Crows' next match will be against West Coast at Subiaco on Saturday, with Scott Camporeale to take on the role of caretaker coach of Adelaide. Geelong will take on North Melbourne at Docklands on the same day.
