An in-and-under centreman who joined Morningside in 1987 after 23 VFL games with Melbourne, Daryl Bourke was a dual Grogan Medalist (1989 and 1993), a triple premiership player (1991-3-4) and triple club best and fairest winner. He played a total of 187 QAFL games despite a 1988 knee reconstruction, and was captain and assistant coach through the club's most successful era. He played 10 times for Queensland.

An in-and-under centreman, Daryl Bourke played 18 games at Melbourne under Ron Barassi and John Northey in 1985 and 1986, before being draft by the newly-formed Brisbane Bears in 1987. Though he was unable to win a spot on the club’s first playing list, he resurrected his career at QAFL club Morningside, and despite a knee reconstruction the next year, went on to become one of the all-time Panther greats.

He won the Grogan Medal in 1989 and 1993, enjoyed premiership success in 1991, 1993, and 1994, and was a triple B&F winner and five-time runner-up. He captained the club from 1988 to 1992 before stepping down the next year become assistant to senior coach Marty King. All told Bourke played 187 games for Morningside and 10 times for Queensland.
