Albert Murdoch was a small wingman who had pace and leapt surprisingly high for marks, only to drop more than he held. He had plenty of enthusiasm and drive, and could be relied on to undertake more than his share of the game’s unglamorous tasks. He played 65 VFL games for Essendon from 1957 to 1962, kicking seven goals. After leaving the Bombers he spent the 1963 season with Stanhope, before spending the following year at VFA first division side Brunswick, where he played two games and scored three goals.
