Centre half back in Fremantle’s inaugural AFL game against Richmond in 1995, David Muir was restricted by injury to just 20 appearances for the club in two seasons. Originally from Claremont, he played in the Tigers’ winning grand finals of 1993 against West Perth and 1996 against East Perth. He retired from football after the 1996 grand final having played 49 games and booted 42 goals for the Tigers.
Prior to joining Fremantle Muir was drafted by West Coast in 1993 and North Melbourne in 1994, only to be de-listed without playing a senior game in both instances.
Following his retirement as a footballer he became a noted big wave and stand up paddle surfer.
