Dom Fotia was a rover with a touch of class, but lacking in consistency, who made waves when he commenced with West Torrens in 1986. During his three season, 51 game, 34 goal stint with the Eagles he impressed to the extent of making the South Australian state of origin training squad and, inevitably, soon began attracting interest from Victoria. The 1989 season found him at Carlton where he would experience a roller coaster time highlighted by a three Brownlow vote performance against Geelong in 1990, counterbalanced by plenty of football with the twos. In three years with the Blues he managed just 18 senior games and four goals. He went on to play briefly for VFA clubs Coburg (eight games, four goals) in 1992 and Werribee (two games, six goals)the following year. As late as 2007 he was still turning out every Saturday for Yorke Peninsula League club Centrals.
