A handy rover with a keen goal sense, Wayne Primmer played 40 VFL games and scored 74 goals for Essendon between 1977 and 1979. In three matches in his debut season he bagged seven majors, and his tally of 47 goals that year saw him top the Bombers’ list. In 1980 Primmer joined West Torrens where he made 17 senior appearances and kicked 27 goals. He later had stints at Lalbert, Hamilton and Benalla.
