Tommy Corrigan was a highly accomplished all round footballer who played as a centreman throughout his career. That career commenced with Fitzroy in 1922, a season which culminated in the ‘Roys downing Collingwood in the premiership decider by 11 points with Corrigan in his customary position in the pivot. This remained the undoubted highlight of his time in football, although he was to taste premiership success twice more.

Between 1922 and 1928 Tommy Corrigan played 107 VFL games and booted 13 goals for Fitzroy. He spent the next five seasons playing for VFA side Northcote which made the grand final in every one of those years. Corrigan missed the 1929 flag decider with a leg injury but played in the other four, the last two of which resulted in victories.
