Colin Bond joined Fitzroy from East Coburg and made his senior VFL debut in 1961. After initially struggling to hold down a place in the side he became a regular senior player from 1964. A solid defender, he had played 54 VFL games without kicking a goal by the end of the 1966 season, at which point he retired.
