Formed at the end of the 1963 season following a merger between Liverpool-Bankstown and Parramatta, Southern Districts existed for sixteen seasons as a member of Sydney’s premier football competition. Its best seasons were 1967 and 1968, when it finished fourth, but more often than not it tended to struggle. In its final two seasons the club was known as Liverpool.
