In 2017 the Demons were one of five founder members of the Southern Tasmanian Football League's women's competition. The team performed creditably, finishing third after the roster matches before trouncing Port by 59 points in the first semi final. A fortnight later in the preliminary final, however, they found opponents Blues too hot to handle and slumped to defeat by 26 points. A year later the Demons did even better, getting as far as a grand final clash with reigning premiers Lindisfarne. Admittedly, this was lost, and lost heavily, but all things considered it was a highly promising effort.
