RAAF (ACT)
An influx of southern states men with football backgrounds led to the formation, in 1940, of a CANFL club at RAAF Kingston. The club struggled to field a team each week in its debut season, and finished last, but between 1941 and 1943, when other clubs were weakened by the loss of many of their best players to the armed services, it performed creditably. It came closest to claiming a premiership in 1941 when it lost the grand final to Queanbeyan by just 3 points. Once the war was over, however, the club disbanded.
