Branxholme Wallacedale

Formed prior to the 1983 season the Saints claimed their only South West District Football League senior grade premiership to date that very year by downing Dartmoor in the grand final by 11 points, 20.10 (130) to 18.11 (119). This remains the only grand final that the Saints have contested and recent seasons have been disappointing in the extreme as evidenced by no fewer than eight wooden spoons since 2004. That said, the 2017 season represented an encouraging improvement which saw the Saints claim fourth spot on the ladder ahead of the finals. They then did everything but win in their first semi final encounter with Heathmere, totalling 9.17 (71) to 11.6 (72) to go down by the most heart breaking of margins. After that the 2018 season was something of a disappointment as the Saints managed just a couple of wins from 16 matches to plummet seventh place out of eight teams, a result that was emulated in 2019.
