Casterton Sandford

In 2013 Casterton of the Western Border Football League merged with Sandford of the South West District Football League giving birth to the Casterton Sandford Football Club, nicknamed the Cats, who compete in the WBFL. The Cats' first half a dozen seasons have seen them perform competitively, reaching the finals on debut as well as in 2014, 2016 2017, 2018 and 2019. The 2018 season was especially disappointing as the Cats topped the ladder ahead of the finals only to bow out of the flag race with "straight sets" losses to eventual premiers Millicent and surprise team East Gambier. Because of the global coronavirus pandemic the WBFL did not run a senior competition in 2020.
