Cockburn Cobras

With seven senior grade premierships between 1993 and 2011 Cockburn has been by some measure the Mercantile Football Association’s/Metro Football League's most successful club.

The Cobras have competed in C4 Grade of the Western Australian Amateur Football League since 2012 and, after several seasons of comparative mediocrity, finished the 2017 at the head of the ladder to qualify for their first ever finals series. However, their lack of finals experience showed through as they crashed out of the flag race in "straight sets" at the hands of Secret Harbour and Kwinana. The following season saw them dropping down the 11 team premiership ladder to eighth place after they won just 5 of their 16 home and away matches. A year later they broke through for their first ever WAAFL premiership, finishing top of the ladder ahead of a finals series which culminated in a 16.11 (107) to 6.4 (40) grand final defeat of Cockburn Lakes.
