Coolaroo

The Roos are the oldest club in Queensland’s Darling Downs region, having been formed in 1970, the year before an official local competition got underway. Coolaroo reached the grand final in that first season, but lost to Signals. So far, the club has claimed nine senior grade premierships, including a league record five in a row between 2001 and 2005. Their most recent flag was obtained in 2015 by means of a 15.15 (105) to 8.12 (60) grand final defeat of Goondiwindi. Subsequently they finished third in both 2016 and 2017 and sixth in 2018 before making it as far as the 2019 grand final. Opposed by Goondiwindi the Roos did everything but win, scoring 5.17 (47) to 7.9 (51).
