The Swans spent most of their history competing in the Fingal District Football Association, claiming a total of eight senior grade flags, plus four in the reserves. Under their original name of St Helens they won a couple of North Eastern Football Union premierships in 1997 and 2000. More recently, as East Coast Swans, the name they adopted in 2013, they reached the 2014 grand final only to lose by 21 points to Branxholm. In 2017 they crossed to Division Two of the Northern Tasmanian Football Association and immediately qualified for the decisive match of the year. However, Lilydale proved to have their measure on this occasion with scores of 13.8 (86) to 7.7 (49). Amends were swiftly made at the conclusion of the 2018 season as the Swans emerged triumphant from their grand final clash with Evandale with scores of 7.14 (56) to 8.2 (50). A year later their campaign was brought to a halt at the preliminary final stage by St Patrick's.
