Eden WFC
Founder members in 2016 of the Sapphire Coast AFL's women's competition Eden enjoyed immediate success by claiming the new competition's inaugural premiership. Underdogs on grand final day after losing the second semi final to Tathra Bega the Whalers recovered to down Pambula Panthers in the following week's preliminary final before turning the tables on the Bombers in the grand final re-match, winning by a single straight kick, 5.2 (32) to 4.2 (26). A year later the Whalers again overcame the setback of a second semi final reversal, this time against a standalone Tathra team, to obtain revenge on grand final day with a hard fought 6.2 (38) to 4.3 (27) triumph. What was truly remarkable about this turnaround was that Eden's deficit in the second semi was no fewer than 106 points.
The 2018 season saw the Whalers claim a hat trick of flags after they overcame perennial rivals Tathra on grand final day with scores of 4.7 (31) to 2.3 (15).
