Lismore Derrinallum

Lismore and Derrinallum had been long standing rivals in the Western Plains Football League prior to their merger in 1999. Both clubs had enjoyed considerable premiership success in the competition, with Lismore going top in senior grade on ten occasions and Derrinallum on nine.

In recent seasons the Demons have been fairly regular finalists and the 2015 season saw them break through for a first ever senior grade flag. Second on the ladder after the home and away series they overcame Penshurst in the qualifying final by 37 points before encountering the hitch of a 16 point second semi final loss to Tatyoon. A second clash with Penshurst, this time in the preliminary final, followed a week later and once again the Demons reigned supreme although they had to battle hard for their 8.10 (58) to 6.13 (49) triumph. The grand final saw Lismore Derinallum turn the tables on Tatyoon in conclusive fashion, in the process inflicting on the Hawks only their second loss for the season. Scores were Lismore Derinallum 15.11 (101) defeated Tatyoon 10.14 (74).

The Demons made a decent fist of going back to back in 2016 but ultimately had to be satisfied with third place following a 15 point preliminary final defeat at the hands of Wickliffe Lake Bolac. The 2017 season saw them make complete amends by comfortably qualifying for the finals before going on with the job by qualifying for the grand final and overcoming pre-match favourites Wickliffe Lake Bolac by 15 points, 12.8 (80) to 10.5 (65). The following year saw them slip down the list to fifth following a 4 point elimination final loss to Tatyoon.
