Lismore Swans WFC

The Swans were the inaugural QWFA Northern Rivers premiers after accounting for Ballina Bombers in the 2017 grand final by 7 points, 1.7 (13) to 1.0 (6). In a competition comprising just three clubs the Swans finished second after the home and away series which meant they had to face third placed Tweed Coast Tigers in what was effectively a preliminary final. Six points down at the final change the Swans kept their opponents scoreless in the last term whilst adding 1.1 themselves thereby procuring victory by a solitary point, and setting up the ultimately successful grand final clash with the Bombers. A year later history was duplicated as the Swans again won the flag from second, downing Tweed Tigers in the grand final by a somewhat more comfortable margin of 45 points.
