Lockyer Valley Demons

Known initially as the Lockyer Valley Magpies the club first saw the light of day in 1981 and quickly made their mark, claiming a senior grade AFL Darling Downs premiership in their fifth season. A second flag followed in 1993 when the Magpies downed University Eagles in the grand final by 52 points, 24.12 (156) to 15.14 (104). After missing the entire 1995 season the club resumed but then went into recess again from 2001 to 2009. On resuming in 2010 the nickname Demons was adopted, but so far there have been no further premierships, and indeed the team has generally struggled, finishing in last place in 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
