Motton Preston

The Demons spent their first decade competing in the Leven Football Association, claiming senior grade premierships in 1969 and 1975, and finishing as runners-up in 1971 and 1976. Since joining the North Western Football Association in 1977 success has proved difficult to come by, but the side could be adjudged somewhat unfortunate not to capture the 2009 flag after topping the ladder and comfortably defeating Wesley Vale in the second semi final. As seems to happen rather more frequently than might be expected, the grand final re-match between the two sides produced a complete reversal of form and fortune, with Wesley Vale emerging victorious by 25 points. The Demons were afforded a small measure of consolation by the feat of their reserves in pulling away from Spreyton in the last quarter of their grand final to win by 30 points, 13.14 (92) to 9.8 (62).

In 2010 the Demons made amends by comfortably defeating Turners Beach in the grand final with scores of 17.12 (114) to 10.11 (71). They went on to reach the next four grand finals as well, winning those of 2012 and 2013, both at the expense of Sheffield. The Demons have continued to perform quite strongly in the main but there have been no more grand final successes.
