Nairne Bremer

A merger between the Bremer and Nairne Football Clubs brought the Nairne Bremer United Football Club into existence in 1978, and the club took its bows in the Hills Football League the following year.

The Rams’ first senior A Grade premiership arrived in 1985 in Division Two thanks to a 24.11 (155) to 6.3 (39) grand final mauling of Mount Torrens Cambrai. A second Division Two flag followed four years later.

In 1992 the Rams transferred to the River Murray Football League, where they remained for six seasons before returning to the HFL. Between 1998 and 2001 they competed in the HFL’s First Division competition, while since 2002 they have been members of the Country or Second Division. They qualified for the grand final in 2014, but lost to Mount Lofty by 40 points. The 2016 season brought another grand final appearance but once again the Rams fell short, this time by 3 points against Bridgewater Callington. Finally, in 2017 they broke through to claim their first premiership for over thirty years, downing Ironbank Cherry Gardens in the grand final by 69 points, 22.10 (142) to 11.7 (73). This was followed by a somewhat disappointing 2018 campaign which ended at the first semi final stage at the hands of Bridgewater Callington.
