North King Island

North took part in the first recorded football match to take place on King Island, defeating Currie by 2 points in September 1905. North and Currie were joint founder members of the King Island Football Association five years later. The Bulldogs finished top in 2013 when they downed Grassy in the grand final by a couple of points, 18.15 (123) to 17.19 (121). They claimed another premiership in 2017 when they accounted for Currie on grand final day by a margin of 5 goals, 16.6 (102) to 11.6 (72). A year later, after an evenly contested series of roster matches, the Bulldogs fronted up to Grassy in the preliminary final and fell short by an agonising 1 point margin. Consequently, given that the KIFA is a three team competition, they endured the indignity of succumbing to the wooden spoon.
