Olympic Dam

Admitted to the Woomera and Districts Football League in 1987 Olympic Dam had an immediate impact, reaching that season’s grand final and procuring the premiership with a 15.12 (102) to 7.13 (55) defeat of Roxby Districts. Over the ensuing couple of decades the club would establish itself as one of the competition’s heavyweights with its victory over Roxby Districts in the 2009 grand final giving it its twelfth flag from fourteen grand finals. This triumph made it the most successful club in the history of the competition, a status that was enhanced in 2011 when the Devils comfortably accounted for Andamooka on grand final day with scores of 16.16 (112) to 6.8 (44). Fortunes since have been modest.
