Port Adelaide

"Right from the opening round of the 2004 season, in which Essendon was almost brutally cast aside by more than 100 points at AAMI Stadium, it was evident that that there was an enhanced resolve and purpose about the Port Adelaide players. After clinching a remarkable third successive minor premiership, the Power had to call on every ounce of determination and courage to outlast St Kilda in the club's first home preliminary final. In hindsight, Port's six-point triumph in that game can almost be regarded as the moment the 2004 premiership was clinched..."

From South Australian powerhouse to AFL premier, John Devaney outlines the proud history of Port Adelaide
