"The Port Melbourne side which contested the VFA finals for a record eleven consecutive seasons between 1973 and 1983 was without doubt one of the greatest in the history of the competition. The side participated in six grand finals during the period, winning them all as well as taking out the VFA’s club championship on four consecutive occasions between 1973 and 1976."
