Rocherlea
The Tigers joined the Northern Division of the Tasmanian Amateur Football League in 1970 and were quite competitive from the start. During the 1970s, the reserves won a couple of premierships, but the seniors had to wait until 1980 before contesting a grand final, and did not win a flag until the following year. Two further senior grade premierships followed during the 1980s, after the second of which, in 1988, Rocherlea defeated southern premier Claremont to claim the state title.
During the 1990s the Tigers continued to thrive, contesting grand finals in 1991, 1993 (Division Two), 1995 and 1996, for two wins. Meanwhile, the reserves won a record five successive flags between 1987 and 1991.
The Northern Tasmanian Football Association replaced the northern division of the amateurs in 1997. Rocherlea currently compete in Division One of this competition and recent seasons have seen them truly asserting themselves as a force with grand final wins in 2011 against Bridgenorth, 2012 versus Bracknell, 2013 versus Bridgenorth once more, and 2016 against Bracknell again. The 2017 season brought a marginal decline as the Tigers' season was brought to an end at the preliminary final stage by Bracknell. Worse was to follow as in 2018 the Tigers missed the finals altogether, finishing seventh on the nine team premiership ladder.
