AFL: To be completed

I am an American who fell in love with Australian rules football in 2010 when we started receiving a television network that had the AFL on twice a week during prime time. At that time, I got a copy of the book "Aussie Rules For Dummies", which taught me a lot about footy and helped confirm several rules of the game I was picking up from watching on TV. Now I tell people about it wherever I go. Most Americans have never even heard of Australian rules football. Everyone here knows what soccer is but comparatively few have ever attended a professional league game. Most Americans have heard the word rugby but aren't sure what it is. Even fewer have a clue about Australian rules football. It is simply my favorite sport.

In August 2014 my wife and I visited Australia for the first time. we spent eight days in Victoria during which time we attended all five games of Round 19 in Melbourne. We also took the guided tour of the MCG. We shopped at some footy merchandise shops, ate meat pies, lamingtons, drank Solo, watched Australian TV including Fox Footy, and took two day-long bus trips to rural areas.
