The second instalment of Friday Night Mayhem was on the other side of town in the cosmopolitan surrounds of Norwood, the Redlegs facing the Tigers at Coopers Stadium. The Tigers missed out on finals football by two games behind the Roosters, but for the Redlegs it was even worse as they finished minor premiers only to be the fifth team in succession to drop the flag to the winner of the Preliminary Final. They shared the points from their two match ups last year, the Tigers winning by 31 points in Round 4 and the 'Legs taking the Round 11 game by 32 points.
Just like the other game over in the west, there were some cobwebs to shake off with both sides suffering from goal-kicking issues early on, the first score not coming until the 11th minute in the form of a Redlegs' behind. The Tigers would have the lead at quarter-time, scoring 2.4 to 1.3 for a seven-point buffer. That gap was chipped down to four points by the half-time break, Norwood unlucky to not be the ones in front going into the change rooms after scoring 2.3 to the Tigers' two goals. The Redlegs would enter their attacking arc 50 times in the third term, but got a return of just 2.3. The Tigers, on the other hand, entered their 50 on 28 occasions for a return of 4.1. Glenelg would lead by 14 points at three quarter-time. But inexplicably, they could not keep up that efficiency in the last quarter as the Redlegs fought back to take a five-point win, a former Tiger slotting the winner in among the home sides' score of 4.6 to the dreadfully inaccurate and ill-timed 1.5 by the visitors.
Mitch Grigg was voted best afield for Norwood, the Tigers named Josh Scott as their best.
