Game number four was played out in the north-western suburbs, we now head over to the Alberton Oval for the clash between the Magpies and the Tigers. The last two games between these sides were both Magpie victories. Back in Round 19 last season, the 'Pies took a chunk out of the Tigers' armor to inflict their only loss of the minor round, but perhaps also contributing to their Grand Final downfall in the process. But then came Round 5 this year. The Tigers came into that match on the back of a last kick winner against the premiers, but this time it was a missed shot with the last score of the match that would deny victory against their old Grand Final tormentors. The Tigers came back from the mid-year bye with a big victory against Sturt two weeks ago, while the Magpies were welcomed back from their bye with a loss to the Redlegs. The opening quarter saw a struggle to find the big sticks, the Tigers kicking the only major for the quarter. Added in five missed chances to the Magpies' three and the Bays would hold an eight-point lead at quarter-time. There was still some goal-kicking issues in the second term as the Magpies finally struck pay dirt, the gap brought back to just two points by the long break after they scored 3.4 to the Tigers' 2.3. After the break the Tigers found their second wind as the injury toll as well as health and safety protocols started to tell on the Magpies camp. The inaccuracy bug was another big problem for Port, they scored 1.5 while the Tigers kicked away to a 22-point game-breaking lead going into the final term. The Magpies could only manage a pair of rushed behinds in the opening minutes of the last quarter, the rest of the game belonged to Glenelg as they put away a further 3.1 to get some payback on the old enemy, winning by 29 points. Darcy Bailey finished with 33 disposals, nine marks and five tackles as Glenelg's best afield. For the Magpies, they voted in Nick Moore with 20 disposals and 14 tackles.
