For the last game of the round, it was Sunday afternoon football down at Woodville Oval where the Eagles found their nest under invasion by a pack of Magpies!
Without any dawdling about, the Magpies quickly made their intentions clear and started things off with an eight goal blitz to be up by 28 points at quarter time. Hard work and their constant niggling of the Eagles allowed the 'Pies to extend their lead to 33 points before the long break, after they booted 5.1 to 4.2. Surjan and Waterhouse were the hot targets in Port's attacking 50, another 4.4 to the Eagles three goals in the third quarter. For the first time in eight rounds, the Eagles were being outclassed in every aspect of the game. The visitors finished the job in the final term, running off to a 56 point win. Surjan scored five goals, Waterhouse four goals.
