Match Report

Over at Glenelg Oval the Tigers faced a wounded Panthers outfit. A few weeks ago, South Adelaide fans were buzzing about the show of force by their team. But last week, the Panther rampage was halted by the Roosters. The Tigers have had even worse luck, like the Panthers they showed great form early in the season.

The Panthers would begin proceedings by establishing a 17 point lead at quarter-time. But that is where the Panthers lost the plot and the Tigers blitzed the visitors in the second term booting 7.4 to 1.3 to be up by 20 points at the long break. Very little scoring happened in the third quarter, both teams struggled to find the goal. Wasteful shots by South prevented the gap getting any smaller, the Tigers were still in front by 19 points. South showed some fight in the final term, but their five goal effort in the final term wasn't enough, especially after the Tigers added 8.5 to their score. The home side was home and hosed to the tune of 42 points.

Justin McConnell was named best on ground for Glenelg, who slotted four goals for his day, while Jarrad Wright was named best for South.
